Leather re-colouring.
Our standard practice is that we do not offer any guarantees with re-colouring and this is always conveyed on all our restoration jobs before they commence. We like to ensure that all customers are fully informed and provided with the best advice for such repairs; whether this is a re-colour or panel replacement which essentially provides longer lasting results.
With regards to re-colouring and restoration to leather, the reasons behind fading and peeling varies due to the hide, pigment and top sealant lacquers used. Most of these suites are not UK sourced and some leathers, due to poor quality leather being used, unfortunately allow the users body sweat or oils seep into the hide and over time this absorbs into the leather finish. Eventually, this results in rejection of the top coat finish applied and results in lifting and bubbling. In this case, it is our professional opinion, this is long term cosmetically irreparable and therefore would require a panel replacement.
Despite this, customers who have received re-colour and restoration services are delighted with the extra years of use they may gain from such repairs. No matter how good the prep work or the application process is however, we always advise customers of eventualities that could occur long term.

Frame rebuild and custom work.
All of our frame work and customisation of sofas carries a 6 month guarantee from the date of completion. This includes everything from replacing wooden rails to bracing and all work carried out provides the same piece of mind cover. With rare exceptions such as misuse or accidental damage, we will return and after inspection will aim to rectify further issues free of any labour charges. Please note, however that traveling costs may apply but this will be discussed with you when you make a follow up appointment
Terms and Conditions.
1. All deposits payable are non refundable should you choose not to proceed with scheduled work.
2. Leather work and re-colouring is subject to shade variation. Genuine leather hide can vary from samples chosen due to the pigmentation in the hide and is out of our control however we do try our very best to assure we and the customers are happy.
3. Refusal of payment upon return of a completed job will result in us retaining the furniture / item and selling on to recoup our outlay.
4. Once a job/work is returned payment must be made within 14 days of the invoice and no later, if this deadline is breached we must be given exception to circumstance or we will pursue to claim the monies owed by way of a county court judgement.
5. All of our work excluding re-colouring is guaranteed for 6 months from the date of invoice. Any claims after this time will be subject to further charge.
6. We at Recliner and Furniture Repairs only use fire retardant and safety standard compliant materials from reputable suppliers. Should you wish to use your own material, you will forfeit your standard 6 month guarantee as we cannot be responsible for the origin or quality of the material in these instances. We will however guarantee stitch work for 3 months following the date of your invoice.
